13 Yorkshire wedding venues you can view from home (Video and virtual wedding venue tours)
You might be stuck at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t view virtual wedding venue tours of your prospective Yorkshire wedding venues!
In these unprecedented times technology is helping us continue most activities without interruption. But there are some things you just need to do in person. Like walk around the place you want to get married.
Well, guess what – you can do that online too! Plenty of helpful wedding coordinators have pulled out their phones and recorded walk throughs of their wedding venues to give you a decent idea of how your wedding might feel.
But not every venue has done a tour, and it can be difficult to find the ones who have… so, seeing as I have no weddings to photograph at the moment, I’ve spent some time pulling together a list of Yorkshire wedding venue virtual tours!
(Silence, hmm, drummer must be at home on lock down. OK, just imagine one)
Thicket Priory video tour
South east of York, amazing country house set in 18 acres
The best example I’ve seen so far!
They have a virtual wedding venue tour page on their website,
but their facebook live posts are the best way to have a walk around.
A whole series including tours of the bedrooms, the chapel, outside, inside – these are fantastic and a greeat way to get a feel of the venue and the people who work there!
This is the first video of the “Live tours with Anna” series: https://www.facebook.com/thicketpriory/videos/247532809704878/
The Normans virtual viewings
an amazingly beautiful farm/ barn luxury wedding venue at Bilbrough to the west of York
No live videos to view online, but they are holding virtual viewings.
You can send them an email and schedule and appointment to have a virtual tour via Whatsapp or facetime.

Ox Pasture Hall 360 experience
A country house hotel venue in North York Moors near Scarbrough
Allerton Castle virtual wedding venue viewing
A proper fairytale castle! a very fancy and exclusive place - between Harrogate and York
Allerton Castle have done a fantastic job with this video – so much information, and a really good practical tour of the whole place.
It wasn’t very easy to find though – not linked to from their website or facebook pages, I found this video on a wedding venue directory.
Wharfedale Grange virtual wedding venue tour
between Leeds and Harrogate overlooking the grounds of Harewood House it is a luxury farmhouse and barn type of venue
Chilli Barn wedding venue virtual tour
Otley, West Yorkshire - a really beautiful relaxed and fun festival type venue
York Barn - venue details and video
Wigginton, just north of York Cirty Centre - a lovely wedding barn complex
Although York Barn don’t have a venue walkthrough video (that I can find) they do have a really useful blog post which gives plenty of details about the features of the venue and details about everything that is included.
They also have a great video on youtube which shows the outside of the venue from various different angles.
Woolas Bar virtual viewings
Appleton Roebuck, south west of York
Woolas Barn is a beautiful wedding venue – a properly rustic blank canvas venue with an authentic farm feel. The barn was built in 1863 and the farm is still a working farm.
Opening up for real life venue viewings from 16th June, they also offer virtual viewings for anyone who doesn’t want to wait that long (2021 wedding dates are in high demand!).
Email [email protected] to arrange a viewing.
Have you found a wedding photographer yet?
It’s not a normal year when it comes to wedding planning, so don’t be afraid to break some of the more traditional rules!
Normally a couple would go and find a venue first before contacting other suppliers, but this year it might be very useful to contact a wedding photographer first. Talking to an experienced wedding photographer about the venues you have in mind can be very useful as they will be able to offer you unbiased advice based on weddings they have photographed at the venue before.
