Hazel Brow House wedding photos
Hazel Brow House is a dog friendly wedding venue with stunning views over the Yorkshire Dales with accommodation for up to 15 guests, and a hot tub (to relax in while enjoying the spectacular Swaledale scenery or starry dark skies at night after the rehearsal!).
Lizzie and Adam's post lockdown wedding in the Yorkshire Dales
Will they or won’t they? I don’t think there was ever a question that Adam and Lizzie would get married, but there has certainly been a lot of uncertainty about when and how it would happen throughout the 5 months leading up to their big day.
Unlike alot of couples, Lizzie and Adam stuck to their guns and didn’t postpone thier wedding. And despite a lot of mixed messages and total lack of clarity from Boris, their wedding planning all ended perfectly as the restrictions on wedding receptions was finally relaxed a week before their wedding.
Intimate wedding ceremony
After bridal preparations in a gorgeous room with wonderful views over the dale, Lizzie and her bridesmaids walked down the beautifull, yet subtly, decorated stairs before entering the cermony room. Lizzie’s wedding dress was classy and elegant, adn she had a beautiful dried bouquet which was so delicate and pretty.
Adam and his best man were patiently waiting while most guests were outside under a gazebo, watching through the window (for social distancing reasons). Only the bridal party and registrars were in the ceremony room.
The ceremony was perfect. They said their vows and exchanged rings with the stunning backdrop perfectly framed by the large windows of this period country residence.
Stunning Yorkshire Dales scenery
After signing the register, the newlyweds walked out to be congratulated by their guests and drink champagne on the patio surrounded by the amazing uninterupted views of Swaledale for their low key reception.
The garden is steep and falls away, almost instantly, making the views feel even closer. After throwing some confetti on the patio, we walked down to the botton of the garden to make the most of the fantastic views before the Yorkshire Dales rain swept in.
Dog friendly wedding
Carter and Cash, the bride and groom’s Boston terriers were looking very dapper in doggy bow ties, and happily played around in the garden. As Hazel Brow House is a dog friendly hotel, Lizzie’s parents also brought their dog who I’m sure was a lot happier than she looked!
Fun wedding entertainment - Boris Johnson Pinata!
This was the first wedding I’ve ever seen a Boris Johnson pinata at! After a lot of bashing and shouts of “get married, don’t get married” sweets flew everywhere, and Boris was discarded, broken and battered.
Unconventional wedding cake cutting
Everyone gathered for the speeches – Lizzie’s dad gave a wonderful heartfelt and touching speech – with no notes – and there were tears from at least 6 guests (I always think that’s the measure of a good speech!). And then the cake was cut. It was a really beautiful cake – stunning and elegant… Lizzie and Adam lined up with the knife (all was going well) and then somehow, the whole of the top tier ended up, well, off! No one gives you lessons on how to cut a wedding cake!
